2007 Oscars is finally here. The fashion expectation was high this year because all our favorite stars have been strutting their stuff with some of the most fabulous dresses on the red carpet all year at the many events, parties and other award show. The Oscars is supposed to be the super bowl of fashion and style. But I was quite
disappointed in the glamour effect. Some celebs were fabulous and conveyed a sense of old Hollywood glamour that has been modernized. My best dressed were...Penelope Cruz, Gwyneth
Paltrow, Nicole
Kidman, Cate
Blanchet, Helen
Mirren, and Reese Witherspoon.
But the rest was just okay and too safe. The good thing was that there really weren't any extreme worst dress like before. Check out my picks.

I totally agree with you that the red carpet was a disappointment with the acception of the actresses you listed on the "Best Dressed" list.
I was blown away by Penelope Cruz and Cate Blanchett. Their gowns were Oscar Red Carpet perfection. I thought that JLo's look would have been more youthful if her hair was long and either straight or wavy. She didn't wow me which is surprising. Her dress was darling though.
Jennifer Hudson looked beautiful but I didn't like the little jacket. I'm surprised that Vogue Magazine's Mr. Talley put this look together for her. I loved the pockets on the chocolate gown though.
Beyonce looked lovely as usual but I agree, I liked her performance pieces better than the red carpet gown.
I loved Celine Dion's performance gown and Gweneth Paltrow's red carpet number. Very sexy and sofisticated.
Overall, I think that there could have been more wow factor. But I'm satisfied that Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson won and let Hollywood know, that black actors/actresses are a force to be reckoned with.
You are right on with all your comments. My fav looks were Gwyneth Paltrow, Helen Mirren and Penelope Cruz. Nicole Kidman also looked lovely. I was totally shocked by Reese Witherspoon, she looked gorgeous, her hair, makeup and dress worked, she actually looked younger than usual.
